Arboretum

Willows Park Preserve has been named a Level I Arboretum in partnership with Radnor Township

This prestigious accreditation was bestowed because the mansion property contains many of the original plantings from the early 1900s, and the grounds remain a vibrant reminder of the rich history of that time.

We’re especially grateful to Bartlett Tree Experts for sponsoring this initiative. The Willows Park Preserve Arboretum features hundreds of mature willows, oaks, maples, and sycamores, close to 50 species of trees to view as well as a prized Redwood-Dawn, Metasequoia glyptostroboides, which is approximately 100’ tall, and 70 years old.

The Willows Park Preserve‘s long term goal is to foster community appreciation for the important role trees play in making us feel happier, healthier and more creative while improving our air quality and combating the effects of climate change.
